Formed in 2009 and composed of the musicians of the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra of Saint-Petersburg, the Stradivarius Ensemble performs on prestigious Old World violins, violas and cellos, yet not all of them are Stradivaris — they also play on Guarneris, Guadagninis and Grancinos.
