Jamaica for families

Families for ages 8+
A workshop that draws participants inside the music of this surprising island, to create their own interpretation of one of the greatest reggae hits. This session is followed by a brief presentation of the Jamaica Jamaica! exhibition, which participants are then free to visit at their own pace.
Sunday: 2:30pm to 4pm

Adults and Youth of 15 and older
A tour for exploring the different facets of Jamaican culture with its offbeat sound. Looking beyond Bob Marley, discover a rich and widely-branched musical heritage.
Tours are available on Saturdays and Sundays, and every day during French school holidays (from 8 April to 25 June): 11am to 12:30am

The multiple facets of Jamaican music and culture demystified in the exhibition with a specialised tour guide.

Year 8 to Year 13
After visiting the exhibition and learning about Jamaicaʼs rich culture, students are introduced to the musical codes of reggae and create their own interpretation of a song.
Duration: 2 hours

Accessibility Visits

Self-guided visits (audio touch tour)

Blind and partially sighted visitors can experience the exhibition thanks to an audio touch tour composed of raised drawings and an audio description via the free audio guide.

Teenagers and adults

The guided tour of the exhibition can be adapted to groups of visitors with disabilities. The tour guide can enhance the tour commentary with audio excerpts and the use of multisensory media. Hard of hearing visitors can request a lip reading tour with audiophones, in order to amplify the commentary and audio excerpts.
