After last year’s triumph in the Stadium with Ballets russes, the Orchestre de Paris and its charismatic conductor Klaus Mäkelä return for a residence on two evenings over the week-end of 14 July.

The first is an occasion to hear two regulars of the symphonic repertoire which share the history of being premiered in Paris: Mozart’s Paris Symphony no 31 and, of course, Berlioz’s Symphonie fantastique, one of the revolutions of 1830. The evening begins with the world premiere of a piece commissioned jointly by the Orchestre de Paris and the Festival from the young British composer Charlotte Bray, a previous member of the Académie and among the most promising talents of her generation.

The concerts on July 13 and 14 take place at the following address:
Grand Théâtre de Provence
380, avenue Max Juvénal
13100 Aix-en-Provence
