Musée de la musique - Cité de la musique
For its first Night of the Nightingal, the Museum tries out a programme replete with concerts, choreography, and unexpected performances all about birds.
For one spring evening, stroll through the collection at the Musée de la musique by night—becoming the nightingale—and discover the powerful inspirational force of birds. Then continue your evening at the Rue musicale (Cité de la musique), with entertainment, activities and refreshments in a festive, bird-themed atmosphere.
The evening is designed to be enjoyed entirely at your own pace:
Programming at the Musée de la musique, from 7.30pm to midnight
Alex Cecchetti - performance of Song of Solitude with bird calls
Jean-Boucault, Johnny Rasse, bird callers, and Shani Diluka, pianist
Molécule - bird-inspired electronic creation
Students of the Conservatoire de Paris - ornithological concert and choreography
Installation: stuffed birds from the Museum national d’histoire naturelle.
Programming at the Rue musicale, from 7pm to midnight
Entertainment and vendors: temporary tattoos, bird calls, music boxes and toys, bird nests, albums, and books on the world of birds.
Workshops: origami, the art of the plumassier, sampling birdsong, bird protection awareness
Ornithological listening and reading room
Wine and cocktail bar serving drinks with bird names
Bird-shaped sweets for tasting, and other light edibles
Audio ambiance: remix of birdsong and nature sounds
An ephemeral and poetic set design, inspired by the nightingale
Costumes and fancy dress encouraged. Come in your finest feathers!
