This tremendous concert directed by Semyon Bychkov presents Richard Strauss's immense symphonic poem, A Hero's Life. Brazilian pianist Nelson Freire performs Beethoven's Concerto No. 5, which he played for the first time at the age of twelve in his native city of Rio de Janeiro.
