Three distinct musical renderings of the same text, Psalm 110 — under the direction of Jordi Savall. Handel’s working of the text is almost graphic: the repeated, broken-up notes on the word conquassabit (“he will break”) contrast with the gentle fluidity of the voices and strings on the phrase de torrente in via bibet (“on his way he will drink at the stream”).
