Concours international de lutherie

Finale Talents de demain
Competition
Le Studio - Philharmonie

The Musée de la musique and Talents & Violon’celles have dedicated the second edition of this competition to the violin.

The competition aims to promote excellence in the field of violin making and to highlight its links with music and its interpretation. It is open to professionals (“Talents of Today” category) and to lutherie students (“Talents of Tomorrow” category). During the competition, the violins are displayed in the Musée de la musique, bringing together past and present lutherie. The famous “Sarasate” violin, made by Antonio Stradivari in 1724 and preserved at the Musée de la musique, is the model proposed to luthiers in the “Talents of Tomorrow” category.

This year’s competition is chaired by Raphaël Pidoux. Jury members are violinists Tanja Becker-Bender, Roland Daugareil and Jean-Jacques Kantorow, and luthiers Andrea Frandsen, Silvio Levaggi and Julie Reed-Yeboah.

This final features three instruments played behind screens by violinists of the Orchestre de Paris. Each instrument is played solo and in violin and piano duet. At the end of the final, the three instruments will be awarded first, second and third prize. The Luthiers Jury may award a “coup de cœur” to a violin.

Presentation in French and English / Cette épreuve est présentée en langues française et anglaise.
