Stockhausen’s nineteen Klavierstücke are major milestones in the history of twentieth-century music. The composer entrusted his most marked ideas to the piano – from the pointillism of his early works to the scenes drawn from his opera Licht. In this session, alternating between spoken text and musical examples, Pierre-Laurent Aimard addresses the main themes of the Klavierstücke I to XI.
