To prepare your visit and facilitate checks related to « Vigipirate » (France's national security alert system) reinforced at the Philharmonie de Paris, please arrive early.
After Klavierstück XI, presented in the form of fragments in between which the pianist is free to meander wishes, the later Klavierstücke XII to XVI are excerpts from scenes of Licht, the monumental opera in seven days on which Stockhausen laboured unrelentingly. There is an overt use of theatre elements in these pieces, as the performer playacts, whispers and moans, et cetera.
