Humour, memory and joy in a vibrant collage of music and on-screen images. In the spotlight: Carlos Kleiber, Sergiu Celibidache, Miles Davis, Bruckner, Stockhausen, Beethoven and a choreography by Thomas Hauert with his company Zoo, filmed by Thierry De Mey.
Opening the ManiFeste festival, this grand event is a thrilling collage of music and moving images. Young Danish composer Simon Steen-Andersen has virtuoso interplay between the live orchestra, jazz band and vocal ensemble on stage and a series of living archives, in a profound and hilarious journey into our own musical memory.
The eclectic Summer Playlist includes even Ravel’s La Valse, danced on the rooftops of Brussels. With its whirling acrobatics, a summer playlist listened to with the eyes.
