Ben Harper’s global success—from his debut album in 1994 to the present day—has helped introduce the general public to the rich range of sounds produced by the Weissenborn instruments he performs with: a sensitive touch, coupled with a rare and powerful musical expressiveness. Alongside his career, Ben Harper has built an exceptional collection of instruments produced by Hermann Weissenborn’s workshop: lap steels, of course, but also rare and even one-of-a-kind ukuleles, mandolins, and guitars.

By showcasing a remarkable selection from his collection in the museum’s galleries, Ben Harper affirms his desire to preserve and pass on the richness of a musical and artisanal heritage to which he is deeply attached.
