Roberto González-Monjas appointed Principal Guest Conductor

The Cité de la Musique – Philharmonie de Paris has announced the appointment of Roberto González-Monjas as Principal Guest Conductor of the Orchestre de Paris, beginning with the 2027/2028 season for an initial four-year term. Alongside international touring and special projects, his tenure will include at least three subscription programmes each season at the Philharmonie de Paris.

Esa-Pekka Salonen establishes a long-term relationship with the Philharmonie de Paris

Starting in September 2027 and for a period of five years, Esa-Pekka Salonen will serve as Principal Conductor of the Orchestre de Paris and will hold the Chair of Creation and Innovation at the Philharmonie de Paris. In addition, in 2026, he will begin a five-year term as Judith & Thomas L. Beckmen Creative Director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. This dual appointment will enable the Philharmonie de Paris and the LA Phil to forge a close partnership.

Violoniste-soliste, chambriste, reconnue dans le monde entier et premier violon solo de l’Orchestre national de France depuis 2002, Sarah Nemtanu occupera le poste de violon solo de l’Orchestre de Paris à partir du 1er janvier 2026.

Olha Dondyk

From January to June 2026, Olha Dondyk, laureate of La Maestra 2024, will serve as Assistant Conductor of Orchestre de Paris. In this role, she will assist Klaus Mäkelä and most of the guest conductors invited by the orchestra.

In July 2026, the Orchestre de Paris and Klaus Mäkelä will perform Strauss's Die Frau ohne Schatten and Bartók's Bluebeard's Castle.

June 2025. The musicians of the Orchestre de Paris have just given their final concert of the season at La Philharmonie and are setting off on their summer tour.
This year, they will be visiting South Korea, Japan and Taiwan. Centred around Saint-Saëns’ Symphony No. 3 ‘with organ’, which serves as its overarching theme, Mouvements follows the Orchestre de Paris’s Asian tour, conducted by Klaus Mäkelä.
