As part of the Hip-Hop 360 exhibit, the Toi, Toi, Mon Toit soirée is a time for both mind and body to let go on the roof of the Philharmonie over a backdrop of an eclectic set list, with two DJ sets and a concert where rising stars form constellations (the DJ Andy 4000 and Parisian rapper EDGE) with a legend of the French hip hop scene (Solo).
Andy 4000 (DJ)
After starting out with the crew Girls Do It Better, Andy 4000 has headlined for the collective Yard and Lala &ce and was featured on the show Dans le Club (Arte Concert) filmed at the Philharmonie – though her stellar career involves much more still. Today, she is one of the few artists able to juggle between underground clubs, the fashion scene, and festivals. Everywhere she goes, Andy 4000 has her spark that hits the mark: she breaks free from convention and celebrates all music styles, from classic to hip hop, including trap, afrobeat, and Brazilian waves. Her party spirit is sure to get the crowd moving.
EDGE (Live)
With his gentle voice, introspective lyrics and eclectic sound, EDGE is leaving his mark on French hip hop with his rapidly growing discography. After his first mixtape in 2020 (OFF), the Parisian rapper saw double success in 2021 with his collaboration with Jazzy Bazz and Esso Luxueux (Private Club) and his first, highly acclaimed album (OFFSHORE). From the glum of the day to the hum of the night, his rap is an outlet.
Solo (DJ)
This historic figure in French rap is highly anticipated in the booth on the roof of the Philharmonie. Right at the start of the 1980s, Solo was part of the first wave of hip hop and breakdancing at the Trocadéro before starting the group Assassin in 1987. As a well-known producer and DJ, he has been bringing beats to Parisian nightlife for more than two decades with the TOXIC parties, as well as at the most prestigious events and clubs, such as Le Silencio and Les Bains.
