In the unique setting of the basement of the Cité de la Musique, the Under the Stage series welcomes artists from the Philharmonie de Paris program for an intimate and exclusive musical performance.
In April 2025, the Philharmonie de Paris celebrated ECM, the legendary record label founded by Manfred Eicher that explores diverse musical horizons, with elegance as its only compass.
Pierre Boulez as a composer, but also a conductor and teacher, most notably in masterclasses with the Cleveland Orchestra: this selection reveals all the facets of this central figure of the 20th century.
The Chamber Orchestra of Europe has given legendary concerts at the Cité de la Musique under some of the world’s greatest conductors, including Pierre Boulez, Claudio Abbado, Nikolaus Harnoncourt and Bernard Haitink.
Since his first invitation in 1988, Esa-Pekka Salonen has forged lasting ties with the Orchestre de Paris and its musicians. This selection of concerts and shows bears witness to this fruitful relationship.
