The Musée de la musique and Talents & Violon’celles have dedicated the third edition of this competition to the viola.

The competition aims to promote excellence in the field of instrument making and to highlight its links with music and its interpretation. It is open to professionals (“Talents of Today” category) and to lutherie students (“Talents of Tomorrow” category). During the competition, the violas are displayed in the Musée de la musique, bringing together past and present lutherie. 

This semi-final features fifteen instruments played behind screens by musicians of the Orchestre de Paris. At the end of the round, the jury selects the eight best instruments for the final.
