Imagine if Claude Debussy had met Pierre Boulez. What would they talk about? The nymph Syrinx with whom the God Pan was in love and who inspired Debussy? Or of the origins of Boulez’s mysterious Dialogue de l’ombre double? Carried by the works selected and performed by the soloists of the Ensemble intercontemporain, actor Gabriel Dufay weaves tales that run through and bring together the musical and poetic lives of these two important composers of the twentieth century.
