This is the first of two evenings devoted to Tchaikovsky, by two specialists of the Russian composer, Mikhail Pletnev, founder of the Russian National Orchestra which he will be conducting for these concerts, and pianist Nikolaï Lugansky — bringing you the rare Overture, the famous Piano Concerto No.1 and the melancholy Symphony No.5.
