Myung-Whun Chung conducts two central works of Tchaikovsky’s oeuvre: his Piano Concerto n° 1, performed by 2015 Chopin Competition winner Seong-Jin Cho, and his Symphony n° 6, the “Pathétique”.

Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1 never fails to charm, even after multiple listens. From the stunning introduction that opens the door to the entire work to the sizzling finale, the composer crafted a lyrical masterpiece whose fantasy is only equalled by its virtuosity. South Korean pianist Seong-Jin Cho, first prize winner at the 2015 Chopin competition, offers a dazzling interpretation.
