For the first concert of this weekend dedicated to Gustav Mahler, Valery Gergiev and the Münchner Philharmoniker perform his luminous Symphony No. 4, as well as Das Lied von der Erde (The Song of the Earth), which was inspired by eighth-century Chinese poetry.
