Mathias Pintscher conducts Bartók’s opera Buebeard’s Castle, an opera which takes its inspiration from Charles Perrault’s Fairy Tale. The plot, according to the author, is confined to the pyschological struggle between two personalities, the music limiting itself to representing that struggle in an abstractly simple way.
