In parallel to developing his immense body of work on Baroque music, William Christie has devoted himself to the creation of a garden–now classified as a historical monument–in Thiré en Vendée, an exceptional site Of French and Italian inspiration that is now home to the academy for young singers of the Arts Florrissants, Le Jardin des voix. The six singers of this concert, all selected for the eighth edition of the international academy, present an anthology of English airs.
With support from the singers of the Jardin des voix and the members of his orchestra, William Christie explains the originality of the musical selections he has chosen. His secret garden in a nutshell…
