In Words and Music (1961), written as a radio play, Beckett imagined a lonely old man, Croak, who asks two allegorical characters, Joe and Bob (who incarnate the title elements, respectively) to express certain themes. Morton Feldman wrote a score for the piece in 1987. Ivan Fedele presents a new musical setting for Words and Music, created for the stage.
