Echo Collective joue "Amnesiac" (Radiohead)
Part of Nils Frahm’s carte blanche
Echo Collective, a Brussels-based troupe of classically-trained professional musicians, throws off the traditional shackles of orchestral music. With original film scores, studio albums, tours, etc., Echo Collective’s work includes a growing list of “solo” projects and collaborations with artists such as Stars of the Lid, Erasure, and the late Jóhann Jóhannsson.
As part of his “carte blanche” on 30 June, Nils Frahm has invited Echo Collective to the Philharmonie to present a neo-classical performance of Radiohead’s work—a project that came to light during Echo Collective’s artist residency at the Ancienne Belgique (Brussels). With the mission of revisiting an album by Radiohead, either Kid A or Amnesiac, Echo Collective chose the second option for its complexity and esoteric qualities, and the result was a hit! The German label 7K! releases Echo Collective’s rereading of Amnesiac on 30 March 2018.
