First the fertile meeting between a French electro producer and a marimba virtuoso, then the most sensitive artist in the German electro landscape returns to the stage.

1/ Chloé & Vassilena Serafimova Sequenza
For the two to cross paths—Chloé, a woman-machine of the club scene and electronic infra-worlds, and Vassilena Serafimova, a Bulgarian classical musician—was highly improbable. Yet since their first artistic collusion in 2017, when together they revisited Steve Reich’s Music for 18 Musicians, they have been inseparable, nourishing each other’s artistry and developing a rich interplay between their respective beats and marimba. After experimenting together at Studio Venezia, in the French Pavilion at the Venice Biennale, a project initiated by Xavier Veilhan, Chloé and Vassilena Serafimova continued their dialogue, combining their differences. From this unique alliance between the rebellious coolness of electro and the aerial grace of marimba, a totally singular musical formula was born, one best appreciated live in this high-calibre instrumental pas de deux. Presented here for the first time, this concert entitled Sequenza is the matrix for their future collective album.

2/ Apparat
After a long interlude under the alias Moderat, the fruit of his musical morphing with his compatriots from Modeselektor, Sascha Ring picks back up as Apparat in 2019, with a new album, LP5, and a tour. The Berlin DJ and musician, a master chameleon and adept of multi-track collaborations, is never as moving as when he turns his inspiration inward to create atmospheric songs of evanescent beauty, irrigated by his science of the laptop and melancholic songwriter’s sensibility. In the past few years, he has focused his energies in the living arts (a stage production of War and Peace), film (Mario Martone’s Revolution, winner of best soundtrack at the Venice Film Festival), and the visual arts—giving his more intimate undertakings a hiatus. Indeed, the anticipation around LP5 has built in the eight years since the splendid The Devil’s Walk came out. This eagerly-awaited new release promises to delight and surprise.
