Para One makes its big comeback with SPECTRE, an exceptional project in the form of a triptych: an album, a film and a live show, being presented at the Cité de la Musique with this preview event.

Although he has composed extensively for film, it has been nine years since Para One released his last album. Bringing this long wait to an end is his ambitious new project—a comeback, a revival, and a new achievement, sure to make its mark this year in several respects. SPECTRE is made up of three formats: an album, a film and a live show. Released on 21 May, Machines of Loving Grace is a concept album in which Para One explores his influences and obsessions: from Japanese anime soundtracks, Indonesian percussions and the gamelan, and the vocal harmonies of Le Mystère des Voix Bulgares, to the minimalist music of Steve Reich and Detroit techno. Inspired by the artist’s travels in Bali, Japan and Bulgaria, the album interweaves acoustic and electronic textures. Sanity, Madness & The Family, still shrouded in mystery, will be out in theatres in autumn 2021. Between these two releases, spectators at Days Off can discover Operation of the Machine, the live component of the project, which promises to be a powerful show.
