Following the release of his third album, Love You, Drink Water, electro-soul composer Awir Leon is offering a concert set in motion by choreographer Amala Dianor and set in stone by visual artist Grégoire Korganow, for a musical experience set to be unparalleled.
Since his first forays into music a little over ten years ago, Awir Leon has been developing a sophisticated electronica in which his poignant voice traces the new frontiers of a particularly elegant soul. His impact caught the ear of Woodkid, who invited him as the opening act for his recent tour. Before he found his feet in music, though, Awir Leon used them to dance with, and he has kept his foot in through the many collaborations with the many choreographers he worked with as a composer. It was his collaboration with Amala Dianor, starting in 2014, that led to the creation of original tracks for a dozen pieces. Love You, Drink Water marks a new chapter in this joint venture, albeit with a radical new approach: the musician integrated dance into the very act of composing, inviting Amala Dianor to create a performance inspired by his new songs. The music will be embodied in the movements of the singer and choreographer and will live on in the video creations of visual artist Grégoire Korganow. The result is a choreographed concert conceived as a quest to find oneself and the world – a quest that the three artists will take their audience on.
