Change of venue: The weather conditions forecast for Thursday 29 June mean that we cannot safely host a public event on the roof of the Philharmonie. The evening will therefore be held in the Rue musicale in the Cité de la musique.

To kick off its 13th edition, Days Off is inviting London-based label Erased Tapes with three DJ sets led by home-grown artists Kiasmos, Rival Consoles and Crayon.

The Erased Tapes label started life in London in 2007 under German musician Robert Raths, and has been carving out its own particular pop path ever since. It brings together artists with a wide range of visions, embracing both the elegance of the neoclassic wave and the daring of the most experimental electronica. With Nils Frahm, Kiasmos and Rival Consoles, the label has one foot forward in the avant-garde scene and one foot back on the dance floor. With Bell Orchestre, Ólafur Arnalds and Penguin Cafe, it is shaping a new, dream-filled future of ambitious and accessible contemporary music. Three of the label’s ambassadors will be at the decks this evening.

Kiasmos DJ (JR)

Janus Rasmussen and Ólafur Arnalds created Kiasmos back in 2009. With just one album and a handful of EPs to their name, the minimalist and melodious techno style of Kiasmos made its mark as an unusual yet unmissable group. Janus Rasmussen’s set tonight is certain to be a big event.

Rival Consoles (DJ)

The story of Rival Consoles, a project led by English musician Ryan Lee West, blends in beautifully with that of the label Erased Tapes. The two were born in the same year (2007) and have been charting a similar course ever since. Over his eight albums, Rival Consoles has honed his stripped-back electronic style without shying away from ambient atmospheres and pop plays.

Crayon (DJ)

One of the very first projects brought into the Erased Tapes fold was, in fact, French. Parisian producer Crayon and his many instruments have spent seven years carving out a niche in a minimalist, effortless and languorous R&B style. In 2022, he released Misplaced, his first single with his new label, which marked an impressive shift into electronica, where soul and hip-hop are never far behind.
