Pierre-Louis de Laporte
Pierre-Louis de Laporte is a French choir director and conductor. A graduate of the CNSMD in Lyon, where he studied under Nicole Corti and later Lionel Sow, he draws on an exploratory approach that combines listening, space and the voice to inform his artistic practice.
A semi-finalist in the 2021 Eric Ericson Award and subsequently a prize-winner at several international competitions, he went on to develop his career in France and abroad. His work as a guest conductor has taken him to prestigious ensembles, including the Radio France Choir, the NFM Chór de Wrocław, the Dijon Opera Choir and the Orchestre Colonne. He has collaborated with conductors such as Marin Alsop, Christoph Eschenbach and Simone Young at iconic venues including the Philharmonie de Paris, BOZAR in Brussels and the Berlin Philharmonie.
From the 2024–25 season onwards, he has been appointed associate conductor of the Paris Orchestra Choir, associate conductor of the Jeune Chœur de Paris, and professor of choral conducting at the CRR in Paris. He also continues to fulfil his duties as musical director, notably with the Ensemble Vocal de la Maîtrise de Paris and the Ensemble Vocal Bergamasque.
