In this recreation of the Jungle Book with fresh eyes, Elliott Jenicot and Raphaelle Cambray interweave stories, asides and sound effects to recount the universal fable, an affirmation of respect for all living beings.
The eminently popular tales in the Jungle Book were born of the years Rudyard Kipling spent in India, in direct contact with nature and animist spiritualities. Mowgli, the wolves who raise him in the jungle, Baloo the bear, Bagheera the panther, Kaa the python, and Shere Khan the tiger, have become figures in our moral and educational imagination. Through the vivid scores of Miklós Rózsa, Éric Tanguy, Nikolaï Rimsky-Korsakov and Camille Saint-Saëns, the sombre strength and picturesque imagery of the jungle are ‘painted’ for us by the orchestra. An original combination of symphonic music and theatre, so the little ones (and their parents!) can rediscover the law and poetry of the jungle.
