The solists from The Ensemble Intercontemporain propose fragments from the history of chamber music of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries by way of five generations of composers: Debussy and Ravel in 1910 and 1920, Messiaen with his Merle noir of 1952, Maderna and Berio in the sixties, Philippe Schoeller with his Madrigal of 1994 and a new work by the young Italian composer Matteo Franceschini.
