The libretto of her opera Infinite Now, by the Israeli composer Chaya Czernowin (born in 1957), is based on a montage between a short story by the Chinese female writer Can Xue and various texts describing life at the Front during the First World War: All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque and soldiers’ letters.
