Bastien Pelat

FLUTE

Having taken up the flute in Aveyron, Bastien Pelat was awarded a gold medal and then a first prize in advanced studies at the CNR in Lyon in José-Daniel Castellon’s class, before joining the Paris Conservatoire – CNSMDP. There, he was awarded first prizes in flute (in Pierre-Yves Artaud’s class) and chamber music (in the classes of Michel Moraguès and Laszlo Hadady).

He spent two summers with the Pierre Monteux School Orchestra (USA). In 1996, a scholarship enabled him to undertake a traineeship with the Orchestre national du Capitole de Toulouse, which he joined as second flute for the 1998–1999 season.

In 2002, he was appointed co-principal flutist with the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra, then principal flutist with the Pays de Loire National Orchestra in 2006. In 2008, he joined the Orchestre de Paris.
He also performs chamber music with various ensembles, with whom he takes part in numerous festivals (Vieux Lyon, the Périgord Noir Festival, the Larzac Festival and the Hugo Wolf Akademie).
