After studying the French horn and percussion at the École nationale de musique du Mans, Jérôme Rouillard enrolled at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris (CNSMDP) in 1992 to study the French horn in André Cazalet’s class. In 1996, he was unanimously awarded a First Prize.

In 1998, he became a soloist with the Paris National Opera. An assistant at the CNSMDP since 1999, he joined the Orchestre de Paris in February 2002.
