Gabriel Dambricourt

PRINCIPAL HORN

Originally from the Rouen area, Gabriel comes from a family of musicians. It was therefore only natural that he turned to music from a very young age. Having started out on the piano, he took up the horn a little later, followed by the organ. In 2015, Gabriel joined André Cazalet’s horn class at the Paris Conservatoire, focusing primarily on orchestral performance. He has performed on numerous occasions as a guest principal horn with orchestras such as the Orchestre National de France, the Orchestre de l’Opéra National de Paris, the Orchestre Philharmoเชnique de Radio France, and the Orchestre National de France… In 2019, he joined the Orchestre National de Lyon as principal horn, and subsequently made his debut in August 2025 with the Orchestre de Paris. He is also the winner of several national and international prizes: the Thomas Kuti International Competition (2015) and the Dutch Horn Society International Competition (2017).

His career has led him to pursue both historically informed performance and the early cornetto, which he plays regularly with ensembles such as the Concert de la Loge, the Orchestre des Champs-Élysées, the Concert d’Astrée, the Insula Orchestra and Les Siècles. He then began teaching at the École Supérieure de Musique de Bourgogne Franche-Comté alongside Manon Souchard in 2023. Alongside his career as a horn player, he continues to study the organ in the class of Yves Lafargue and Lionel Avot at the CRR in Lyon, and performs regularly in chamber music ensembles or with orchestras such as the Verbier Festival Orchestra
