Alexandre Gattet
PRINCIPAL OBOE
Alexandre Gattet was seven years old when he began studying the oboe. He was awarded a Gold Medal at the CNR in Toulouse before entering the Paris Conservatoire – CNSMDP, where he won First Prizes in chamber music (1998) and then in oboe (1999).
Winner of First Prize at the ‘Gillet’ International Competition (USA, 1999) and the Tokyo International Competition (2000), he has taken part in numerous festivals in France and abroad and has been invited to perform as principal oboist with leading international orchestras (Berlin Philharmonic, Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Budapest Festival Orchestra, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, etc.).
He took up his post as principal oboist with the Orchestre de Paris in 2001. In 2002, he was a prize-winner at the prestigious ARD Competition in Munich.
