Marie Leclercq

Born in 1980, Marie Leclercq began studying the cello at the Dijon Conservatoire in Christian Wolff’s class. She also benefited from the expert guidance of Xavier Gagnepain at the Boulogne-Billancourt Conservatoire.
At the age of 18, she was admitted as the top candidate to the Paris Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique, studying under Philippe Muller. Whilst studying, she taught at the Dijon Conservatoire. Winner of the First Prize at the Jean Françaix International Competition, she was also a prize-winner at the Festival des Arcs, which led to her performing as a soloist with the Orchestre des Pays de Savoie.
In 2002, she became a principal player with the Orchestre de Paris.
Marie Leclercq also pursues a career as a chamber musician, performing in prestigious venues (Salle Pleyel, Cité de la Musique, Amphithéâtre Bastille, the Musée d’Orsay, the Dijon Auditorium, the Moulin d’Andé, the Philharmonie de Paris…) and takes part in various festivals (the Lubéron and Bordeaux String Quartet Festivals, Royaumont Abbey, Villa Musica in Germany…).
For six years, she was a member of the Thymos Quartet, which recorded two albums in close collaboration with maestro Christoph Eschenbach.
She also performs with the Manfred Quartet, the Rosamonde Quartet, the Moraguès Quintet…
