Alexandre Bernon
SUB-PRINCIPAL CELLO
Alexandre Bernon began his musical studies at the Metz Regional National Conservatoire (CNR), where, in 1996, he was awarded first prizes in cello (in Jean-Charles Rougier’s class), music theory and chamber music. He then went on to further his studies at the CNR in Boulogne-Billancourt under Xavier Gagnepain and Hortense Cartier-Bresson, and in 1998 was unanimously awarded a first prize in chamber music. After joining the Paris Conservatoire in Michel Strauss’s class in 1999, he was once again awarded a first prize with distinction by unanimous decision in 2003.
Alexandre Bernon has been a member of the Orchestre de Paris since April 2004 and has held the post of third principal cellist since February 2005.
