Lusiné Harutyunyan

Violin

A native of Armenia, Lusiné Harutyunyan studied music successively at the Yerevan State Conservatory in Gagik Smbatyan’s class, at the Haute École de Musique de Lausanne with Pavel Vernikov, and at the Haute École de Musique de Genève in Svetlin Roussev’s class. There she received the highest honours, including the ‘Henri Stern’ Prize for the best performance in the Master’s programme in specialised performance (soloist track).

During her studies, she took part in numerous masterclasses with musicians such as Ivry Gitlis, Zakhar Bron, Boris Brovtsyn, Svetlin Roussev, Natalja Reithel, Donald Weilerstein, Jean-Marc Phillips-Varjabédian, Stéphanie-Marie Degand, Jeanne-Marie Conquer, Gerhard Schulz and the Tokyo Quartet. She performs regularly as a soloist with the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra, the Armenian National Chamber Orchestra and the Ostinato Workshop Orchestra.

Lusiné has won several international competitions (the Tadeusz Wroński Competition in Warsaw, the Malta International Competition, the Andrea Postacchini Competition in Fermo, and the Aram Khachaturian Competition in Yerevan). She performs on the most renowned stages in the United States (Los Angeles, Carnegie Hall in New York…), in the former Soviet republics, and across Europe: France (Salle Cortot in Paris, Auditorium de Vincennes), the Netherlands (Rotterdam), Switzerland (Victoria Hall in Geneva, Studio ‘Ernest Ansermet’ in Geneva), Belgium (Philharmonie de Liège), Germany, Turkey, Bulgaria and Armenia.

Lusiné Harutyunyan pursues a dual career as a solo violinist and chamber musician. Committed to promoting the contemporary repertoire, Lusiné Harutyunyan’s repertoire includes works by Krzysztof Penderecki, Éric Tanguy, Florentine Mulsant, Luciano Berio, Avner Dorman, Arvo Pärt, Witold Lutosławski, Alexandre Gasparov, Krzysztof Meyer, Bruno Mantovani and Édith Canat de Chizy.

She is a member of the RoVerde Trio, with whom she recorded Beethoven’s Triple Concerto for the Brilliant Classics label in 2022, alongside the Württembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen, conducted by Vahan Mardirossian, as well as a Rachmaninoff album. A CD dedicated to Dora Pejačević’s works for trio is due to be released in autumn 2023. In 2023, she made her debut as a guest soloist with the Royal Chamber Orchestra of Wallonia.

Lusiné Harutyunyan joined the violin section of the Orchestre de Paris in September 2022. She plays a Ceruti violin on loan from Gilles Chancereuil.
