Morane Cohen

Violin

Morane Cohen-Lamberger began her musical studies at the Nancy Regional Conservatoire with Marthe Tercieux for violin and Claude Fourcade for piano. Fascinated by orchestral music, she chose the violin. She studied in Paris with Jean Lénert at the Schola Cantorum and then with Suzanne Gessner at the Paris Regional Conservatoire.

After obtaining the Diplôme national supérieur professionnel de musicien (DNSPM) in 2012 and a Bachelor’s degree in musicology from Sorbonne University, she continued her studies at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London with Jacqueline Ross. There she was awarded a Master of Music in 2014 and the Guildhall Artists Fellowship in 2016.
The orchestra academies she joined through auditions enabled her to work with the Orchestre de Paris (2011), the London Symphony Orchestra (String Scheme Experience, 2012) and the London Philharmonic Orchestra (Foyle Future Firsts, 2014).

She also gained experience as a concertmaster: during her training with the PSPBB Orchestra in Paris and the Guildhall Symphony Orchestra (conducted by Gianandrea Noseda and Takuo Yuasa), and subsequently as a professional with Arch Sinfonia (conducted by Chloé Van Soeterstède), the London International Chamber Orchestra, the Multi-Story Orchestra and the BBC Symphony Orchestra in December 2022.

Morane Cohen-Lamberger has worked for over ten years with leading British orchestras: the London Symphony Orchestra (under the baton of Sir Simon Rattle, Sir Antonio Pappano, Gianandrea Noseda, Valery Gergiev…) in London, as well as on tours across Europe, Asia (Japan, China, Korea…), South America (Argentina, Chile, Colombia…), the United States and, more recently, Australia. She has also worked with the London Philharmonic Orchestra (conducted by Vladimir Jurowski), the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra of London (COOL Music), with whom she has participated in numerous recordings, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (under the baton of Andris Nelsons and Kazuki Yamada), the Royal Northern Sinfonia, the Philharmonia Orchestra…

She is also drawn to other repertoires and performs alongside Les Siècles (conducted by François-Xavier Roth) and the Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique (conducted by Sir John Eliot Gardiner). More recently, she was invited to perform with the Constellation Choir & Orchestra (conducted by Sir John Eliot Gardiner).

After 12 years in London, she will return to the Orchestre de Paris in 2024.
