Joseph André began learning the violin at the Chambéry Conservatoire. After studying at the Royal College of Music in London and the Toulouse Conservatoire, he was unanimously admitted to the Paris Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique. There, he studied violin and chamber music under Régis Pasquier and Alain Meunier.

Joseph André is a laureate of the European Foundation for Culture, the Ravel Academy, and the “Flame” and “Lions Club” competitions.

From 2009 to 2011 he was concertmaster of the Toulouse Chamber Orchestra, then a violinist with the Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra.

Joseph André has been a permanent member of the Orchestre de Paris since 2019.
