Joëlle Cousin

Violin

Joëlle Cousin began her musical studies in Lyon and then at the Versailles Conservatoire. She subsequently enrolled at the Paris Conservatoire – CNSMDP, where she was awarded a First Prize in violin in Pierre Doukan’s class and a First Prize in chamber music in 1991.
She went on to complete a postgraduate course in solo violin and furthered her studies with Irina Botchkova (Moscow) and Veda Reynolds (Philadelphia) before being accepted at the Royal College of Music in London.

A member of several chamber music ensembles (sonata, piano trio, string quartet), she has been invited to perform at the Radio France Festival in Montpellier, the Théâtre du Châtelet, and on several tours of Japan. She has performed with members of the Moraguès Quintet and soloists from the Orchestre de Paris, of which she has been a member since 1994.
A holder of the CA (Certificate of Aptitude), Joëlle Cousin teaches violin at the Conservatoire in Paris’s 6th arrondissement.
