Félicien Moisseron
Double bass
Born in 2005 into a family of musicians, Félicien Moisseron began playing the double bass in 2012 at the Saint-Quentin Conservatoire in Laurent Mézerette’s class. He continued his training at the Reims Conservatoire with Hubert Deflandre on double bass and Jean-Louis Delahaut on piano, disciplines in which he was awarded his diplomas in 2022 and 2023 respectively. It was in Reims that he studied composition and music analysis and developed his chamber music practice. In 2023, he joined the Paris Conservatoire (CNSMDP) in Nicolas Crosse’s class and, in May 2026, was awarded his bachelor’s degree with the distinction ‘very good’ by unanimous decision.
Drawn to orchestral music from an early age, Félicien played with the Jeune Symphonie de l’Aisne and took part in various courses, particularly in the field of early music, where he worked with musicians from the ensemble La Risonanza and the harpsichordist Fabio Bonizzoni. In 2022, he joined the Orchestre Français des Jeunes for two seasons, before taking part in the sessions and tours of the European Youth Orchestra (EUYO) in 2024, under the baton of Iván Fischer.
His career has also been marked by several encounters with renowned double bassists. In 2025, he furthered his studies with Olivier Thiery in the Netherlands and Rick Stotijn in Slovenia, through workshops and masterclasses. He also benefited from tuition from Mathieu Petit and performed on several occasions with the Orchestre de Picardie alongside Olivier Talpaert; these two experiences helped to shape his musical identity.
In September 2025, Félicien joined the Montpellier Opera Orchestra. In September 2026, he joined the Orchestre de Paris.
