Estelle Villotte
Viola
Estelle Villotte was unanimously awarded a First Prize for viola in Jean Sulem’s class and a First Prize for chamber music in Bruno Pasquier’s class at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris; she also studied under masters such as Droujinine, Barthold Kuijken and James Levine.
Before joining the Orchestre de Paris, she performed with the European Union Orchestra under the baton of Bernard Haitink, Carlo Maria Giulini, Sir Colin Davis and Pierre Boulez.
She has taken part in numerous festivals as part of chamber ensembles (Folles journées de Nantes, Epinal Chamber Music Festival, Flâneries musicales de Reims, etc.) and performs regularly with the Traffic Quintett, a string quintet that combines video art with film music.
Estelle Villotte has been a member of the Orchestre de Paris since 1998 and plays a Vicenzo Sannino viola made in Naples in 1903.
