Akemi Fillon
Violin
Born in 1979, Akemi Fillon began learning the violin and piano at the age of four, before starting her formal training at the Orléans Conservatoire.
After studying both instruments at the CNR in Boulogne-Billancourt, she joined the CNSM in Paris in Roland Daugareil’s violin class, and trained in jazz, contemporary music and improvisation.
It was at the age of 11, during summer orchestra courses, particularly with the Centre’s Youth Orchestra conducted by Jean-Marc Cochereau, and later with the French Youth Orchestra, that she discovered her passion for this large ensemble.
These unique experiences would subsequently develop her sensitivity towards passing on her knowledge to young musicians.
Driven by curiosity, a desire to explore and share across a wide range of musical worlds, her professional career went on to be highly eclectic.
Her classical training led her to perform with the finest French orchestras (Orchestre de Paris, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Opéra de Paris, Orchestre de Chambre de Paris…), as well as in smaller ensembles, particularly at chamber music festivals.
At the same time, she performed on national and international tours with musicians and singers from the jazz and pop scenes.
Her first encounter with the Orchestre de Paris came as part of the orchestra’s academy in 2004, after which she was invited to join as a substitute for nearly 20 years.
Building on these musical and personal experiences, she joined the Orchestre de Paris in 2024.
