Amreï Liebold

PRINCIPAL CONTRABASSOON

Amrei Liebold studied the bassoon with Georg Klütsch in Cologne and Daniele Damiano in Geneva. In 2004, she graduated from the Hanns-Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin, where she furthered her studies with Klaus Thunemann and, on the contrabassoon, with Marion Reinhard. She took part in masterclasses given by Sergio Azzolini, Ingo Goritzki, Radovan Vlatković, Jaime Martín and Jean-Claude Gérard, as well as at the Santander Festival in the summer of 2003. She is a scholarship holder of the Villa Musica Chamber Music Foundation and Deutsche Bank. 
She plays with the German Youth Orchestra and collaborates with renowned orchestras such as the SWR Stuttgart, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra, and, on a regular basis, with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen. In 2005, she was appointed as a contrabassoonist at the Wiesbaden Opera.

In September 2012, she joined the Orchestre de Paris as principal contrabassoon. 
Amrei Liebold is currently a music teacher at the CRR93 in Aubervilliers-La Courneuve. 
She is invited to perform with Parisian orchestras, as well as with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Bamberger Symphoniker, the Liceu Orchestra in Barcelona, the WDR Sinfonieorchester Köln, the Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya and the London Symphony Orchestra.

Furthermore, having qualified as a Sivananda yoga teacher in 2016, she regularly teaches classes at the Philharmonie de Paris, as well as at other venues.
