A l’orée d’une carrière internationale déjà triomphale, Lang Lang partage la scène avec Herbie Hancock. Cette rencontre, réalisée pour la première fois au festival de Montreux en 2009, laissait déjà entrevoir un goût prononcé du virtuose chinois pour le jazz. Le charisme indiscutable d’Herbie Hancock, et la polyvalence dont il a fait preuve au long d’un cheminement marqué par ses collaborations avec Miles Davis, Chick Corea et l’incontournable aventure Headhunters, donne à l’interprétation des œuvres de Dvorak et Berlioz un air d’accomplissement.
